Loss of personal data by County a disgrace - Radford

The loss of the bank details and personal information of 1,400 Salisbury residents by Wiltshire County Council has been condemned as a disgrace by local Liberal Democrats.

Speaking to a meeting of local residents, Nick Radford, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Salisbury said:

“This is nothing short of a disgrace. Hundreds of people have been put at real risk of exploitation and identity fraud because of County incompetence.

“Not only do we have to suffer a Labour Government that is completely incapable of keeping our private details secure, it now seems that the Conservative-run County Council is also thoroughly incompetent on this issue.

“I want to know what guarantees the County Council is going to give to any residents that do suffer exploitation as a result of this blunder?"
